Local means local.
Corbel is designed to process files on the Mac where they live. The product works without an account, advertising, or image uploads.
App data
Corbel does not upload your screenshots, photos, recognized text, notes, or organization data. It contains no advertising, analytics, tracking, or third-party data collection SDKs.
Software updates
Direct-download copies use Sparkle to check for signed updates at ss.lumany.co. These requests share ordinary network information, such as your IP address and the app version, with the hosting provider. System profiling is disabled, and update requests contain no library content. Automatic checks and installation can be controlled in Settings → General → Updates. Mac App Store copies use Apple’s update service instead and do not include Sparkle.
Trials and licenses
Direct-download copies contact ss.lumany.co to check free-beta, trial, or license access. Requests contain a random installation identifier and a license key only when supplied, never your media or library metadata. During the free beta, no installation record is created unless you activate a license. Trial start dates and license associations are retained to provide access and prevent trial resets; contact hello@lumany.co to request deletion. Purchased licenses are cached in your Mac’s Keychain for offline use. If you choose to buy, Paddle processes payment and we store the transaction and customer references needed to provide your license; we do not receive your full card details.
Beta download email
When you enter an email address to get the download link, Lumany LLC stores it with the signup date to provide beta access. If you choose the optional email checkbox, we also record that choice, its date, and the consent wording version so we can send Corbel updates and occasional feedback requests. Leaving it unchecked does not affect your download. Your email is not sold or shared for third-party advertising. To stop optional emails or request deletion, reply to an email or contact hello@lumany.co.
Folder access
The app accesses only the Screenshots and Downloads locations you explicitly select through the macOS folder picker. That access is used to display, search, organize, copy, drag, reveal, rename, annotate, and delete files at your direction.
Optional Photos access
If you choose Connect Photos, the app uses Apple’s Photos framework to browse photos and videos in your system Photos library. Titles, notes, pins, search data, and review decisions stay on your Mac. Full-quality export copies are cached locally for copying, dragging, and sharing; iCloud originals may download through Apple when needed. Your Photos library is not uploaded to Lumany LLC.
On-device processing
Text recognition, visual indexing, search ranking, thumbnails, private notes, pins, shelf state, and review metadata are processed and stored locally on your Mac. Image content is not uploaded to Lumany LLC. Sharing sends only the files you choose to the destination you select; iCloud Photos transfers are handled by Apple.
Retention and deletion
Local metadata and cached export copies remain on your Mac until their application data is deleted. Removing the app alone may leave this data behind. Beta access emails are kept while the beta is active or until you ask Lumany LLC to delete yours. Folder-based images move to macOS Trash only at your direction. Deleting from Photos requires confirmation and uses Photos’ Recently Deleted recovery.
Changes
If the app’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before the relevant release.
